Can you spare some change?

Gunner, the little boy with the DIPG from Marshall County where we lived in KY, needs your help. His parents are seeking alternative treatments for him in Arizona, and the insurance does not cover the expense. They are asking that people send a penny to the account that has been set up for them in Benton,KY. The treatments and supplements are very expensive (a 5 week treatment is around 30k). She has written a VERY LONG post about this on Gunner's caringbridge page which you can read by clicking on the link at the right, and I am including her explanation of these treatments and expense here.

We have found this place in Arizona that will treat and has been treating him for his brain cancer naturally, and we have talked to a couple of parents that have done this with their children, and are now tumor free from this treatment and doing Great. They have treated approximately 16 Brain tumor patients and have not lost one.
We left for Arizona on May 18th. We were told that the treatment would be a minimum of 5 weeks to 8 weeks in Scottsdale, Arizona.
We originally thought the cost of the treatments were going to be $5000 to $7000 a week, that would have been a total of $50,000.00 to $70,000.00 just for the treatments alone, not to mention the cost of the other expenses involved. Unfortunately, after we got here, $14,000 right off the bat for the first two weeks of treatment and supplements were taken out of our special account. We have continued to have $7200.00 to $7300.00 per week taken out of the account, plus we have had to pay for Blood work and MRI's, and of course, this is all out of pocket expenses. The account is getting smaller and smaller and it will be empty very soon.
The insurance companies will not pay for a penny of it because it is experimental.

I cannot image having a doctor tell me that one of my children has 9-12 months to live. I am sure that I would do everything possible to try and beat the odds. If you watch these children, it is pretty much like clockwork-- 9-12 months from diagnosis, they die. There apparently seems to be very little research for this kind of tumor, so finding a cure seems to be a long way off. It's really sad. So, if you can help Gunner's family continue on this road of alternative treatments, please do. If nothing else, say a prayer for them and tell others so maybe they can help.
